Silver Star Training Camp - November 22nd through 26th 2017
Silver Star, B.C. is an early-winter paradise: sitting above the clouds right outside of Vernon, this small mountain resort boasts Canada's largest daily groomed trail network, and consistently has snow by mid-November. For a sport like Nordic skiing where so much of your success depends on technique development, getting on snow early is a sure way to have a good season.
Additionally, early season camps offer teams a chance to start the racing season on a fantastic note, building camaraderie and respect for one another amidst a challenging week of training and fitness work. And that's what we're going to do this year.
Momentum will be hosting a training camp for junior athletes from November 22-26 (Wednesday - Sunday), leaving Seattle around noon on Wednesday the 22nd and returning home after a morning ski on Sunday the 26th. All athletes staying with the team will be housed together with their coaches in a condo or house at Silver Star.
While junior team members are highly encouraged to stay in team housing (both female and male chaperones will be present at all times), families are all encouraged to make the trip as their Thanksgiving vacation, as well. There are lots of housing options at the mountain and plenty to do during the week. Any skiers staying with their families can still join in on workouts and team activities! Moreover, you don't have to be a member of Momentum Northwest to attend our camp!
COST: TBD; skiers staying with their parents will have a prorated cost. A confirmation deposit of $200 is due on November 1st to reserve a spot on the trip. The balance is due by November 22nd.
Each athlete riding in the van must provide BOTH a) a letter of consent from their parents to travel into Canada with Momentum (download letter template here); and b) a valid US Passport
